Sewing Lesson with Rebekah of Honeyshow Studio

I had a second sewing lesson with Rebekah of Honeyshow Studio and we tackled making Roger a romper.

I bought a navy one I really like online. Kyle says it looks like an “old timey bathing suit.”

I got the idea to sew a second romper because they are nice and breezy for this hot summer we’re entering into. That, and the fact that I love one piece outfits.

At first I thought I would buy some fabric from JoAnn, then I got overwhelmed by their selection and confused by their pricing…so I got the idea to just buy a large men’s t-shirt to use for fabric. I spied a great piece for the project at Goodwill for $4.29. It was a grey XL t-shirt from Old Navy with a boombox on the chest.

I just need to finish hemming and sewing the buttons on. Plus, now I have a pattern if I want to make more 2 year old sized rompers!

It looks good with raw edges and without the buttons though. Baby model alert:

Ahh, love the baby model pic!! I love how creative you are. What a great idea to use an old men’s shirt.

  2. Creative and wacky seems to be how my mind works. :)
